Visual Effects Society Announces Shade VFX as a Nominee for the 14th Annual VES Awards

January 12, 2016

We are thrilled to be a nominee in the Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Photoreal Episode category at this year’s VES Awards.

Today, the Visual Effects Society announced the nominees for the 14th Annual VES Awards and we are very pleased to be recognized for our work on Daredevil. The prestigious yearly celebration recognizes outstanding visual effects artistry and innovation in film, animation, television, commercials and video games and the VFX supervisors, VFX producers and hands-on artists who bring this work to life.

Alongside Marvel and Netflix we created invisible effects that were a showpiece of the gritty superhero series, propelling the story forward and making you wince at various slices, stabs, and shoge hook action sequences along the way.

We’re honored not just to be nominated, but to be acknowledged amongst such good company. Mike Chambers, VES Chair said, “We are seeing best in field work that elevates the art of storytelling and engages the audience in new and innovative ways. The VES Awards is the only venue that showcases and honors these outstanding artists across a wide range of disciplines, and we are extremely proud of all our nominees!”

Congratulations to Shade VFX staff members Bryan Godwin, David Van Dyke, Karl Coyner and Julie Long, and best of luck too all the 2016 nominees.
