Zack Snyder’s highly anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is out now and Shade is proud to have completed a slew of visual effects for the blockbuster.
Shade’s activity on the film involved extensive pickup work, requiring creative problem solving and a technology-focused approach to support Snyder’s visceral directorial style. We came in to re-edit and take a second look at problems larger vendors needed help with.
Speaking to TechInsider, Shade’s CEO Bryan Godwin said, “We had a couple of really interesting little creative things that we worked on [for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice] that needed a boutique, artistic angle. And that’s usually when we get called in, if they have a problem they can’t solve, either a creative problem or a budget problem or a schedule problem.”
In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the Caped Crusader goes head-to-head with Clark Kent’s Man of Steel alter-ego. Set within the DC cinematic universe the film’s premise is such: It’s been almost two years since Superman’s epic battle with Zod devastated the city of Metropolis. The loss of life and collateral damage left many feeling angry and helpless, including crime-fighting vigilante billionaire Bruce Wayne. Convinced Superman is now a threat to humanity, Batman embarks on a personal vendetta to end his reign on Earth, while the manipulative Lex Luthor launches his own battle against the Man of Steel.
It’s a brutal brawlin’ superhero smackdown starring Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and Jessie Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. Forbes has professed the film to be, “a treat for the eyes” and /Film declared it, “easily the best superhero movie of 2016.”
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters March 25.
